Los Gauchos de Acero

Now I know Los Gauchos De Acero ("The Steel Gauchos") aren't the newest thing on the Interwebs, but... well they are to me. They're basically three little badasses from Argentina who shred most metalically. Perhaps it's best if you see for yourself. Please note the bunk beds in the band's "practice space."

The introduction of a guest singer in this clip is a welcome surprise. She is, as far as I can tell, the heir apparent to Ozzy's throne. This time, check out the bassist's Pikachu microphone. Now that is metal.

Newest "guilty pleasure" movie: Mr. Brooks, which stars the (deservedly) much-reviled Kevin Costner as a remorseful thrill-killer who talks to an imaginary William Hurt. It also features Demi Moore, Marg Helgenberger, and Dane Cook in its menagerie of has-beens. It's weirdly entertaining nonetheless. Costner sure isn't as pretty as he was when he made this commercial...

Uh... in the days before caller ID, no one, especially not important business people, answered the phone with "Hi."

Also caught the excellent Gone Baby Gone, which featured Morgan Freeman as, well, Morgan Freeman. Let's face it, he's played the same role for as long as most of us can remember. Luckily, evidence of God's lighter side does exist...

[Thanks to Victor for the video flashbacks]
